Newborn Photographer Melbourne
I understand what an amazing yet overwhelming time it is after you've just had a baby. So it is super important to me that you love your final baby portraits and that they reflect your lifestyle and personality.
My goal is to create artwork that you will cherish for a lifetime, and which will be a beautiful reminder of this incredible and brief milestone of your baby's life, so each one of my newborn photography sessions are customized and styled to your preferences.
I know it's hard to trust a stranger with your newborn, so let me put your mind at ease...
As a mother of two wonderful little girls, I fully understand the importance of your baby’s safety and well-being. My vaccinations, including whooping cough and COVID-19, are up to date, and I am trained to handle newborns safely and efficiently. I’ve also completed CPR training specifically for childcare settings.
Your baby's safety is my top priority. During the baby photo session, you can choose to stay right by my side, relax on the couch in the lounge area, or even take a much-needed nap. I also provide a drawing table and books for siblings, along with refreshments like water, coffee, or tea.
My newborn photography approach is simple, swift, and efficient. I aim to move quickly and capture a variety of beautiful portraits, ensuring your baby remains happy throughout the session. Rather than spending excessive time on perfecting a single pose, I focus on creating a range of lovely images of your baby and family. I include both unwrapped and wrapped poses, as well as some with props, and sessions typically last between 60 and 90 minutes.
All newborn and baby photoshoots are held at my private home-based photography studio in Vermont, which is warm, clean, and designed with your comfort in mind.
I also offer the option of having a more relaxed style and lifestyle approach newborn photo session if you feel you would rather "less posed" photographs and more of a white colour pallet.
When to book your newborn photography Melbourne
The ideal time for a newborn portrait session is when your baby is under 2 weeks old. I will of course photograph your baby at any age, but just keep in mind under 2 weeks of age is ideal. Babies are very sleepy during his time, have little sensitivity to touch and sound, and are very comfortable in those adorable curled-up photography poses we all adore so much. Because the window to have a newborn photography session is so little, I recommend booking in your baby's portrait session ahead of time, whilst you are still pregnant.
Of course I understand that babies often don't come when they are expected, so for that reason all of my newborn portrait appointments are on a tentative basis. I keep in touch with you for the latest updates. Once your baby arrives we can move the photography appointment if necessary, as long as your booking is complete and you are on my calendar.
If your baby is already here and you haven't had a chance to book in a newborn portrait session ahead of time, please give me a call as soon as possible and hopefully I will be able to put you on my calendar and capture some beautiful portraits of your little one and your growing family!

PERSONALIZATION. PRESENTATION. ART.
What Makes Me Different to Other Photographers Out There?
Personalization
With over 15 years experience in the professional newborn photography industry, I assure you that your baby and children are in safe hands! No photo session or family is the same. I believe that everyone is different and unique in their own special way and my photography is a direct reflection of that. You may like bright colours, natural/candid photos, dark and moody lighting or plain and simple colours. Whatever your needs, I am here to listen and produce photographs you will cherish forever.
Presentation
On the same day, after your photography session, you get to view all of your photographs on a projector slideshow presentation in the studio. No need to book another appointment to come back to view or continuously check your emails to see if your photos have been uploaded online. This way you only purchase the images you love once you have seen them, what a relief!
Art
I create pieces of ART for your walls that you can't wait to receive, unwrap and hang on the wall in that perfect empty spot above the dining table where your kids will be able to look at it every single morning when they have breakfast and every single night when you all have dinner together.
